My clients located on the outskirts of Manchester are looking for a Buyer/ Purchaser to join their growing team. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and handling a wide variety of duties whilst communicating with many areas of the business. The successful candidate will meet the below requirements and must have some prior experience of buying materials in a construction company.
2+ years’ commercial experience in a Buyer/ procurement role within the construction industry.
Knowledge on a wide range of materials.
Ideally previous experience of residential/ new-build construction (however we may be flexible on this aspect).
Control and communication of group purchasing arrangements to ensure compliance.
Ability to liaise and influence stakeholders of all levels.
Ability to work well in a team and busy environment, willing to learn, excellent time keeping and organisation skills.
Nice to haves:
Knowledge of COINS system.
Excellent IT skills.
Effective negotiation skills/ ability to spot options for cost savings.
